Not been very busy if im honest Blue! Just got back from a holiday in Austria. Im currently in the process of selling of a lot of my old bits and bobs i've had laying about for to long. Got half a clubman estate in the garage and lots of other stuff that needs to go.

All with the intention of getting the minus at home so i can work on it! A lot of the car is really done already i just need to do lots of drilling, trial fitting and bodywork. Which should progress when i get it home, how is your build coming along?

Got a rear cage ;). Not how i wanted it, just like a standard four point. Will have the front section made up and a rear strut brace sorta thing. Saves me lots of money for other bits though!

How are you going to secure this in the Minus shell. (Before anyone asks I know it wont be welded) Its just the sill has a void between inner and outer, bolting it in will require something to stop it crushing the fibre glass.

Yes indeed there is a void. I will be using big spreader plates for mine made in 3mm thick stainless, but the outer bolts will not be at the right angle sooooo i will have some stainless (possibly titanium) turned for me to make a thick tube and then a cut angle to mimic the outer sills angle. Hope this is easier to understand than explain :)

Cheers Blue,
thats about the same idea I had but will be trying something else first.

I tried to take a picture on the Near side of how big this void is.

The metal bracket is part of the original seat belt mounting point

Its not clear in the photo but this is a piece of right angled steel that runs from the seat belt mount all
the way to the front that connects to the door hinge mounting.

Hit the first hurdle already and I need to modify my rear inner arches as the coilover won't fit in the top. Fibreglass is easy though :).

Minus clones!

Have you tried your coilovers into your rear arches yet? I'm going to need to modify mine!
