Got the inlet made by Alex from The Car Kitchen.

Very happy with it. Its got nice big bellmouths inside, boost take offs and the IAT sensor are underneath.

I had to modify the TB so the linkage sat 90deg further round. This meant I could put the TPS at the top allowing just enough clearance for the bonnet. Took quite a few goes to make a throttle cable bracket as its all very snug.

Im just waiting on some O rings and some barbs for the air take offs and I can bolt it up tight.

Its almost there.

It wont start though! I am sure its timing related. It fired up for a few seconds but not much since.
Unfortunately my timing light has packed up. Hopefully figure it out tomorrow with a borrowed one.

Im using a map Will k kindly sent me. Everything looks good in the software to me but Im no expert. Just used SCs setup guide.

Were all good! Well mostly. Cars a bit of a mess!

Turned out to be the crank sensor gap, which is frustrating as Ive never had an issue setting it before. I must of moved it a good 5-6 times with no luck the other day.

Took it to SCS and after some diagnosis it was adjusted again and worked fine.

Was then onto mapping, which went very well :).

175bhp and 180lbft at 15 psi.

31378693_10156478423251654_4662309372016

There is a restriction somewhere in either the exhaust or inlet. Personally think it was the last minute lash up on the intercooler, outlet is 38mm ID and goes through a nasty bend before opening to 47mm. It didnt want to go much over 15psi. Some further work to do.
I also need to change the rad piping to the other side of the engine. Its to tight at the moment.

Worst bit was on literally last power run, one of the tyres I had borrowed delaminated. Nothing that cant be fixed. Just frustrating!

Oof - what a shame on the tyre, bet there were some brown trouser moments as that let go!
Better than happening on the road or strip though.

Love this, I like reading your updates because it shows me what I could have done with my first Minus if I didn't have a wife and kids and mortgage and..... I dread to think what you've spent on this, I bet you've stopped counting!

Is the radiator thing staying on the front like that or are you going to find a way to hide it?  It'll look far neater if all the speed is hidden away.  Someone should make a radiator the same size and shape as the grille so that it can be dropped in there and still look close to normal.

Should be fun, it wasnt slow anyway haha.

Yea, arch, headlight bowl, headlight ring (not the headlight somehow, theyre plastic :)), wing mirror and done some damage to the top of the wing, its blow the GRP near the scuttle. All the black marks will polish out.

Yes, there is some bits stuck in there ceiling! My instant thought was my clutch or something had let go as I was the other side of the car.

The tyres were some old perelli that my mate had as spares, the RR doesnt like 10s they sit to low and touch the built in jack. He was kind enough to lend them to me for the day. They looked perfect but were a bit old.

Just do it anyway. Only live once. to be honest I have a mortgage etc, just got lucky and I have a job I love that allows me a lot of time etc for my hobbies.

Its the same radiator I used last year. Grille covers it, its on buttons I made. Was just off in the photos. Get a bit more air flow on the dyno as there fan wasnt the widest.

Amazing work, Jonny! How do you run your engines in?

Ive only built 3. Every time has been different. This was just run in on the dyno. So before any peak power runs it was all mapped down low with some high load low rpm so that would bed the rings in.

Last engine, I knocked Cam in at 2000 rpm as soon as it started for about 10-15 minutes. Did a few high load low rpm pulls up a big local hill for about 100 miles, changed the oil and went to the rolling road.

Got a new rear view mirror, its literally an exact replica of a longacre but £16 delivered from eBay. I then stripped it down removed the metal backing etc and glued the glass to the brackets. Along with taking a bit of those. Very happy with it.

Got the plastic screen fitted to, was very tight!

I have not updated this for a while.

I have not actually used the car much this year. held back from last years 12 trackdays! managed to get to MK1 Action day, Goodwood RR gathering, Castle Combe mini day and a last chance trip to Rockingham. Cars performed really well overall.
Couple of little niggles to sort out. Seems to have started to overboost a little and the dump valve is a little slow.

Got some quite big plans to get done over winter, will see in due course!

In the meantime i've dropped a few Kg's here and there.

Worked with a friend to produce these, PM me if you want a set.

45081596_10156955506146654_8382779171033

Pretty good saving over a lightenned standard set.
45062842_10156955505661654_3185746967665

CK engine steady decided it would give up.
45128879_10156955505636654_6414071363476

With the spreaders etc it was actually pretty heavy.
45259239_10156955505526654_5742433822360

Managed to get it down a bit with some Ti spreaders, bolts and a bit from Owens fab.
45235058_10156955505551654_3807742898816

Looks a bit better to imo

Changed the ARB mounting bolts
45184344_10156955505956654_1977844203723

Not much dropped out but they look a lot neater
45216840_10156955505976654_5981402061793

This was a fun one

Could do with a tidy up but want to check they won't fall to bits first!

So 1.125 kg with that effort, not massive but seems worth it.

Also finally got round in finshing of my column
45196111_10156955506266654_6311713548259

My gearlinkage has been slowly parting ways with the body so i got one of these and am going to get some mounts done of the cage centre tube, should help me find some gears easier.

45302310_10156955506116654_2031601955725

Managed to pick up another Tillett seat for the passenger side, this is an old B6 and comes in at 4.6kg with the pads on, current seat is 8.7kg.
45795713_10156978989786654_6772609752967

As this one is base mounted and doesn't line up with the current holes i'm changing the seat mounts to accommodate it. Will be going tubular and somewhat lighter. Sticking with MSA regs at 25mm tube etc. Probably going to chop the drivers ones out to seeing as these are pretty bulky! Hopefully 5kg saving.
