I have a complete T3 turbo setup sitting in my garage doing nothing. Includes metro manifold and elbow (IIRC). Was going to stick it on ebay but you can have it for £80?

Inlet/carb/plenum are going for around £120 mark now. One I saw go for £180!! Crazy

All these threads about turbos are totally ruining my plans for my n/a engine lol
should of gone 1380 isntead of 1430 then it would of been easier to turbo in the future

shouldnt be a problem on a 1430,

you should be able to get 28cc in the head and get the pistons taken out to 15cc, that will get to to 8.5:1 compression.

one question i keep meaning to ask is whats better, and what are the pros and cons?

Lower compression ratio and higher boost

higher compression ratio and lower boost

Ideally you want the highest CR and lowest boost you can get away with for the required power and available fuel...

that probably dosen't help much!

dont mean to keep dragging this on, :( but what final drive / wheel size are people using? Im thinking of a 3.105:1, which i think will be quite nice for motorway cruising.

Currently im running a 3.65, but have a very hot cam, i like that ratio, but id like something a little less revvy for motorway journeys, i occasionally do very long trips.

You'll find the torque of the Turbo will pull a tall diff fairly easily, so a 3.1 should be fine.
I personally run a 3.44 with 14's, because that was the tallest final drive that was available for my LSD. It's great for general driving, though a taller one would be a bit nicer on the motorway.
