Not what I would call "mint" with a bent front grille. Only a small point, but I would check the car over with a "fine tooth comb".

This is my WIFE and she would like a cooper NOW!

Then explain to her that she should save up for a real Morris or Austin Cooper, not a Rover "Cooper".

I don't see why you shouldn't spend the money on the mini you've got, or if you can't afford something then that's it... you can't afford it, end of.

That Cooper seems to have a bit of surface rust under the headlamps, and even with that, it's not worth £5k..

It's actually a reasonably priced sportspack for a dealership in the southeast.

Check ALL usual hiding places for rust. Sportspacks can hide their rusticles well & actually be very crumbley underneath.

it looks pretty decent but in my opinion you could do up the rio with the leather interior, 1275 engine etc for less than 5000 and do all the welding etc, the rover minis just rust no matter what and give it a few years and it would probably be worse than the rio, so i would just do up the rio

This is the mini my wife is considering, what are your thoughts on this one.

Mini Cooper

Personally, if you're looking to spend that amount of money on a mini, buy one which has been professionally restored rather than one which is 'mint'. Late model minis are notorious for rusting away, and usually unnoticed until it's too late.. at which point you're looking at a 2.5k bill for a doors forward restoration...

Rather than selling this one for less than a grand and getting another for about 5, why not spend the cash on this one? Could make it look just like and cooper and be even faster for less. Better the devil you know and all that...
