I've always wondered why the rear wheels of modified cars are slanted, or is this a stupid question?

it's negative camber, when you lower a car you get negative camber, or you can get adjustable brackets on the rear or extra long bottom arms on the front.
You really don't need it on the road, people do it because it looks good but it does help with understeer

Sitting in one makes me feel like a twiglet driving a tank. :D

God help you if you ever got behind the wheel of my Range Rover then :P

I'm really loving the Clubmans when they're colour coded with some nice wheels and slammed.

there seems to be a very common theme with these.

most have,

plastic arches (black) going into plastic (again black) skirts and then the same around the back and front.

giving the car a black border/frame.
only a few have arches which are colour coded with the rest of the car.

is this an area in which there arent many other alternatives arches wise?

Unlike the classic Mini which tends to need 'offset', on MINI's most widths of wheel/combinations of tyres can have enough 'inset' to be accomodated within the standard black plastic arches, which were originally designed by Rover into the new MINI because they had become an original Mini trademark 'styling' feature over the years. Like the classic Mini arches they can be colour coded but there is probably less demand for wider aftermarket versions at present for reasons stated above. (I have 215/40x17 tyres fitted on my MINI with no tyre rubbing under the standard arches).

I think this black MINI (not mine!) has a complete replacement aftermarket wider arches/skirts kit fitted?

Don't really save pictures of 'murdered' MINI's or Mini's but these are maybe a bit different or unusual...................

I wouldnt mind eletic blue tyres....... now that would be cool!

Some of these Binis look interesting. A lot of effort seems to have gone into them. Still not my cup of tea and I still dont think this should be in Mini chat but whatever.

Its strange that a modified classic mini can be done tastefully (not always, but most of the time) But almost all modified Binis could be (could have been) a Max Power feature!
