I am thinking of having my numberplate on my bonnet as I think it looks rally esque and it makes it stand out a bit differently to others!

I have found that 80% of people didn't like it for whatever reason but I think it looks smart. I am aware of the legalities and we weren't stopped on a busy saturday night in Plymouth for it. At present the plate isn't on as water got in behind it, I'll make a better job of it second time around if I do it again!

What do you think?

Thanks,

TML

you cant fit black and white plates to a car(legally) unless its pre '73

your not allowed number plates on a curved surface

and i'm not sure, but i think there are some new rules regarding self adhesive plates as well, although i wouldn't swear to that.

i've had a stuck on plate on the front of my jem now for 15yrs, and thats not a flat surface, but its never been mentioned by the old bill, or the mot man

I heard that sticky number plates were now illegal, but I used to have one too and never got pulled and the MOT man never said anything. I did get pulled for nut having a number plate once tho...

If you do use a sticky one, make sure you space all the digits correctly, it has all the measurements for them in the Haynes manual of justice.

Its illegal because it hasnt got who it was made by written on it and now you MUST have the plate in the position it was manufactured in. I didnt get pulled on a busy eve but whether that was because they were pre occupied with more important things I dont know.
