dont search for an engine cc, possibly the worst thing to do if your looking for a mini, a well built 1275 will outpower a poorly built 1380 and as you wont know what your getting unless its proven it just isnt worth the risk especially when the bodywork on a car will cost so much more to fix than building a decent engine anyway. my personal opinion is that you need to look for a car not an engine.

Looks like a really good mini, just make sure you don't pay over the odds as people can get carried away on ebay. Can see the price rising as its a well laid out add for a decent mini and doesn't help you keep advertising it = ].

If you want fast, stick a vtec or redtop in :D (going to get slatted for that) But na like rich said, get a decently built 1275 or a 1293, clubman gt in the classifieds with a 100bhp 1293 for sale, and it would out do a poorly build 1380 :)

The difference is 10cc, by deduction.

1340 cc is not an overbore size for the BMC A Series type engines, its 1330. The origin of 1340cc thing goes back to the mid 1960s when 1340 was introduced as a max engine capacity racing class. This was a Ford engine size, from the 3 bearing Consul 315 & Classic engines which were a popular retro fit in Anglia & Cortina cars. As a result, a lot of 1330 Mini engines were called 1340 and the misnomer has continued to this day.

Wats the difference between 1330 and 1340?
