I'm going to start with saying that this build thread will be a bit slow as I've already done most of the work and I will only update it when I do maintence even though I do have big ideas at the minute, but like I said, they are only ideas at the minute. Most of this all happened before I was 17.

Anyway, this is how I brought him from a local auction. With 2 previous owners and the previous owner had it for 26 of the 29 previous years.

Then I fitted chrome bumpers and trim. Along with a new number plate

The next thing I fitted are angel eye halogen headlights instead of the sealed beam headlights

Then my mum used it as her second car. This was for a few months until the 13th of August, ready to repair all of the rust and give it a complete respray the entire car before the 21st of August, my birthday. Anyway I'll let the pictures of the rebuild do the talking...

The shell was in a very good condition with proper sills used when they were replaced.

Rubbed down ready for primer

How it is now back together.

I have also recently replaced the clutch and head. Now got the cigarette lighter to be fitted.

The compulsary stuff - As you can see we didn't put a cover over the windowscreen and there are sparks in bedded in it, so i need a new screen, then i need new wiper blades.
- I think i also need a new brake cylinder as I think I have one which has gone
The things I'd like to do - Upgrade the brakes to discs as I've got drums all round at the minute.
- Touch up the paint as it's scruffy after being my daily throughout the winter
- Change the rear bumper as it's bent
That's about it for now.

Today I took off the alturnator, and tried to see if the rattle was still there, unfortunately it is, so I've now got to dig a bit deeper. Getting some service parts tomorrow so will update with pictures. I also fitted a rednose on my roundnose :xxx:

When I originally got the car I wanted to respray it OEW when we repaired it, but I decided to keep it beige after going to Norfolk mini day and there was only a couple of other beige ones, and I prefer different minis, so it stayed beige.

I don't know what the colour is called, I can go get the code and find out if you like?

I just found the paint code, LMK, and have just googled it and it has come up as champaine beige :xxx:

Well my engine thinks that having a complete timing chain is overrated as it decided to go ping on the off the forecourt, after filling the tank and fitting a clean airfilter, dizzy cap and a set of leads. He obviously doesn't like money being spent on him! >:proud: :(

Drove it home yesterday. It was the chain which had snapped. He said it snapped and wrapped round the bottom pully so he had to hammer and chizel the casing, then it get afterwards. All good in the hood now though

Got a puncture on the way home from work, and having nowhere safe to pull over, I waited until a couple of miles up the road, I then went into the McDonalds and to see that my tyre had completely shreaded and the wall had come apart from the tread and had been whippping the rear quater, so it had black scuffs all the way up it. I also lost my chrome trim off the sill and arch. The scuffs managed to get t-cutted out just need to wash the rest of the car now as I have a clean rear quater

I think the major problem was the fact it had a tube in it. Suprised how bad it was in such a short time though.

UPDATE: I sorted the brakes out on Saturday morning, out of the 6 brake cylinder on all four wheels, how many were leaking...

I wanted to modify it when I got it, but my dad said to keep it original due to the low owners and mileage, I want to buy another to mod and make special. :xmas:
