dont worry they will look nice. youve done a brilliant job and if you need any advise just give me a message ill keep poping back in here to keep an eye aswell.

they were also my first refurb i think i was 14 and didnt have no help. all done with a paint gun aswell, it was like painting was natural to me lol. so are you still going to do a twist on them ? i like the red idea on the width of the spokes but not sure on the back of the wheel and you could do the red bits with a brush.

well the refurb continues.
got some more done the middle of last week before i went away for the bank holiday weekend so heres the update,

this is the backs after one coat of laquer.
Posted Image
Posted Image

now 2 coats,
Posted Image
Posted Image

and 3,
Posted Image
Posted Image

i (along with some advice from h4wx1e) decided 3 coats should be enough. these wheels are going to be on the mini which is a daily and will only be washed every couple months. so im hoping that 3coats will give them a decent life span.

and the final picture of the backs after the 3coats have had a couple of hours to dry and harden off.
Posted Image

then it was back onto the fronts, and to my horror after a removed the masking tape, i found this.
Posted Image
Posted Image

this was basically down to me being a tit, i noticed a few blemishes in the paint and decided to cover them over with the masking tape on the same side i was spraying on. that, along with spraying close up (to avoid unnecessary over spray) and slight tacky paint (again my fault not allowing it to dry off) meant most of the wheels had dome serious paint problems.

it didnt matter too much as all the wheels were flatted back using first 800 grit and then 1200 grit wet and dry. the vast majority of these masking marks and paint runs are now gone.

lesson learnt :)

they now look like this on the front.
Posted Image
Posted Image
the small "lumps" in the paint are small sections of the original powdercoat which was rediculously stubburn. so it stayed  lucky they arent hugely notice able from the distance i allow people to view the mini from.

i then gave the fronts a couple of really light dusty coats of gloss white paint again, just to cover any imperfections and any areas where the paint was particularly thin, due to my amatuerish, homebrew painting style.
Posted Image

and the now customary end of play shot with nans carpet in view.
Posted Image

now just awaiting a reply from roofless, for some custon stickers before a few coats of laquer to the fronts and then the yokos can be stuck on.
theres no real rush as im planing on putting some hilows on and lowering the mini before they go on. i say i will put them on, what i really mean is h4wx1e will and ill give him the tools he shouts for.

hope you likey let me know what you think.

A nice lunch time read....great post. The end results look like they'll come out looking sweat as.

Decided on your second colour yet? The red art attack looked a winner.

lol i thought about the red on the width of the spokes but decided against it.

im thinking of going plain white white the decals from roofless.

i dont want it too in your face, i dont want my mini to stand out.
