Being on here for a little while I thought might aswell share this project with you guys and gals. I am still waiting for my '81 to come back from the paint shop, that is my first project what I started in September 2009. Then I stumbled over this old girl Evy. Leyland 1971 1000cc mini, with remote gearbox. Neglected and left outside to rot after a brief attempt to repair it (10 YEARS AGO), by the former owner.Criminal indeed. Now hospitalised in my garage. The following pictures will tell a lot about her state. I will try and keep my comments brief and let pictures do the talking, this project is planned to be complete within 18-24month give and take.
I hope you all agree it is a mad thing to do, but that is why we are all on here. Please comment and advise at will. I can't say watch and learn, because most of you have done this kinda work already.

I am sorry, I did not want to upset you on your work, what I meant was when you got the mini before you started to resore it.

Ok bud ;) no to be honest it didnt have patches, it had oversills and innersills which were replaced, but not properly, as for the oversills it damaged the floors so i am putting all new floor sections in 1. to do it properly 2. piece of mind 3. will last longer. Good luck with your project, will follow this one. :)

Thanks, I am still learning the welding magic, but I am happy with my progress. Spend a small fortune on the last restauration on buying panels, this time I bought sheet panels and do some serious bashing,...lovin it!

good stuff! i love bodywork and welding, its so fun, and when you achieve something and get one area finished you can stand back and be proud of yourself. I would be with the work you have done. Keep it up !
