I'd be really interested to find any photos, video, film, of my car back in the 70s, I raced at Kirkistown, Bishopscourt, Mondello Park where I had a great race with David Hall in his Imp, Phoenix Park, Craigantlet, Knockalla,Longridge, Oulton, and Mallory and Cadwell as a Miglia, any ideas Guys , thanks. Couple of nice period photos of Mini racer Simon Ridge in the early days at Brands Hatch (around 1966-67) when he was running his own Free Formula car and before the heady days of sponsorship! He later drove for Automex & D J Bond.

HI All, I have in my possession a race car from back in the 1960/70s the only history i know it is It raced in UK and then went over to Barbados (like a lot did when racing rules changed i think) I have a picture of it form an article in the CCC magazine racing against Alec poole and his escort. The colour has change dover the years and the last colour was black here in New Zealand, It is not allowed to race here due to a fibre glass roof, but the car was stripped down before i got it and it had something to do with richard longman (either a motor or he built it).
It started life as a 1961 mini, fibreglass roof, doors and boot lid, it also had a beam rear axel or lightweight rear end, it ran 13 or 14inch rims in its hey day with girling brakes. I still have the one body tag that on the body, the baulk head has been cut for twin webbers or some form of injection, but original photos show the front was cut for either front mounted carbs or large radiator. It also has vents cut into the A panels which look quite unique and some of the photos in the post are similar.
Ill load photos when i figure out how but if anyone can remember a mini matching or even siomilar to this is would be great.
The colours were green, yellow and black according to the paint being stripped back.

Featuring a 1071 Cooper S bottom end on a 190 gearbox casing. The top half however was a "bit special" featuring a one off twincam cylinder head, twin distributors & coils and ultimately fuel injection.

Ginger Marshall's Mini Clubman Estate leads off the line (Imp engine on a Mini gearbox), this is 1976 it is a Forward Trust up to 1000cc Special Saloon race, the 850cc Imp was on pole but didnt win.

Ginger's brother was the mechanic. They had had 5 special blocks cast which included the block itself and the adaptor to fit the Mini box
