Footman James refused to insure me! Ive been driving 12 years, 11 years no claims, no points but they refused to insure me because the new engine performance was more than double the original. Pathetic. What DO they insure?...

Whats the matter with unemployed people, still need a car to look for work and drive to and from interviews, this insurance company seem a right load of "dogs do" . if you can afford to pay the premiums then they should offer you insurance. Rant over, and relax.

Well exactly, why does it matter if your unemployed and you have the money to buy the insurance out right? I don't see why my job application makes me uninsurable for this company :S Am i a higher risk or somthing because i work in finance? LOL

where does it say you must be employed?

read the OP's post properly, these are the requirements for an ONLINE quote, any deviations from said requirements just ring them for a quote. the reason for these requirements is that a machine cannot deal with anything from the norm.

i have been happily insured whilst unemployed by them no problem, My son at 18 with a modified 998 with tuned 1275 engine fitted and many other mods, was covered within 5 minutes of dialling their number, so come on guys, read the words, dont gloss over them and make assumptions.

Footman james are a very reputable company and get my vote any-time.

shows how much people actually read the posts! this whole post it to stop people from saying footman james wont insure them because they are under 25 or work in finance! it states, as already said above by yoda, that these are the terms for being quoted online, if you do not meet these terms then ring them!

I think this company is on the ball for us classic owners, I just added Yoda to my classic policy and had to take a mortgage for the extra premium! £32 quid!!!

and 20 of that was administration charges!

Outrageous or what? :(

I am a happy bunny really!

Did they explain why not??... could it be anything to do with it being a late MPi and therefore not falling under their definition of a classic (i.e over 15 years old)??

Yes the age limit is part of the criteria for an online quote only!!
