Hey!

Out of interest is anyone aware of any other classics that are cheap on the insurance for new drivers? Got a friend who is looking for a car, but cant afford insurance. I said get a mini of course , but for some strange reason he isnt a fan. I pay £660 with Peter James Third Party on my mini.

Are there any other classic cars that can come near to this? or any slightly more modern cars than can come anywhere near?

from what i have read the cheapest car to insure is a up to 1500 VW beetle on a classic policy

i think a mini 1000 was 4th cheapest

citroen 2cv, as for a classic car policy on a young person, i thought they run a classic car policy as a second car, not a daily driver. Sas far as insurance goes its same issues as insuring on a parents policy.

Well Footman James and Peter James both seem to take on young driver on their own policy. I am insured only on the mini, with me as the policy holder and is the only car i have.

so why is my wife's 84 wr quattro cheaper to insure than her 71 clubman?

exactly what my cousin found (hes 17 and just passed) he couldnt understand how little beetle he'd get for £1500,

it depends on a huge amount of factors, not just value and not just how fast it is

I was looking at ford capris when I was 17 and the 2L was cheaper than the 1.6 to insure. 2L was sub 1k at 17 on a normal policy.
