I’m really behind with the updates. MOT is Wednesday 😬
Brake and Fuel both need a couple of extra P Clips around the floor pans to be honest, or I’m sure the MOT guy will pull me up.

So the next job that needed tackling, before securing the exhaust up and starting the engine, was to fit the O2 Sensor. First up I studied lots of pictures to identify exactly where to locate it. This seemed the best spot:

Before drilling, I had to make sure that the bung would not foul on the De-Cat Pipe.

My original location was too far down the pipe, so I moved it up a bit.

Next job - start drilling, this was a bit tense as I needed to make sure I had it in the correct location, you can see from my marks I change my mind a few times. The dotted line is where the de-cat pipe would reach.

Once the initial hole was drilled I expanded the hole to the correct diameter using a step drill bit and cleaned around the hole to help the weld.

Next I tacked welded the bung into position, using the sensor to hold it in place.

I then fitted it to the car and was able to knock the bung up or down dependent on which way it needed to move to achieve the 10 degree (or more) up from horizontal. This is to avoid condensation on the sensor.

After welding on I cleaned it up.

After welding and cleaning, I sprayed it with some weld through primer and the on it went.

I then set about clamping up the exhaust (using some exhaust sealant on the mating faces where required), no pics I'm afraid.

Holy shizzle, I love the braided hoses you've got going from your master cylinders! Are these available to mere mortals such as myself, or are they custom? i guess it must depend on what masters you have/age of the mini.

Great project, buddy, and the photos are really informative, Especially of the carb,.. how's the clearance on the bulkhead? is that an MG Metro Inlet?

Thanks @Retro_10s, I knew the Clutch MC Braided Lines were available from Mini Spares, but was told that braided brake MC lines were not available. Then someone pointed me to HEL Performance.

Here are all the Classic Mini items. I bought the Classic Mini Yellow Tag Kit Clear / Transparent. Thier lines are super quality.

I fitted a Weber Box, as I intend to install a Weber, so clearance is not an issue, may have been a problem if not? The Ram Air Filter would have especially been a problem.

The inlet is a Fletcher Alloy, picked it up second hand on FaceBook I think.

You reminded me when you spotted this. Sorted that before the MOT.

Really sorry that I am so far behind with the updates on both my project pages and having both on the go at the time, I am getting a little confused as to what I written about.

I put the dash back in:

This pic is out of sync as I have already written about installing the gear change.

Other tasks such as adding the coil and dizzy are all in the Metro Engine Project thread.
