when i drop the engine out of the estate, im gonna spend some time on the subframe and was thinking of a possible colour change?

would a good de-rusting, primering and dollop of hammerite be ok or am i better not attempting?

You don't need to primer it though.

Coloured subs. Who'd have thought it!?

Mine are going white to match the body (with a removeable front it'll be neat I figure)

I'm blasting mine back to metal, welding the seams fully, adding a couple of reinforcements (probably, although I haven't had a good look where yet), A ton of zinc rich primer, A coat of enamel, a rub down, another coat of primer, a top coat of white, and then a coat of petrol resistant clearcote.

White'll be a PITA on a subby, but I know it'll be the only way it'll look good with the front. Anyway, it'll never see rain!
