Wor kid had that same engine in his nova but without the injection....he fitted twin 40's and it sounded the dogs....it was pretty rapid too....sounds a whole lot of fun in a mini.....good luck with it mate....

The shell is now completely stripped, going to phone about getting it sandblasted at some point this week. I already have the metal to repair all the holes that i keep finding so hopefully i'll have a solid shell with roll cage welded in within a month then the rebuild really begins!

is this like a nick month or a real one ? :w00t:

i was also thinking about doing this conversion but still undecided.

did u have to wait long for the allspeed kit??

i think it should be great having that sort of power and the reliability for that sort of money, in a mini.

good luck, and keep us updated with pics. :w00t:

they might come in handy if i do decide to go that route. :D

Lol, it could end up being a nick month, we'll soon see!

I havent yet got the kit, i only live two minute down the road from allspeed so if i was desperate i could go and push him for it! I've been waiting a month now, will be rady in two weeks, i did say i was in no rush though as the shell has a fair bit of work left to do.

Should be picking the kit up tomorow!! Can't wait!!

Sandblasters are being a pain in the arse! A few places won't blast my shell, saying they only do heavier more industrial stuff!

Will get a pic of the kit asap.

This is the frame, currently sat in the living room staying warm and protected from scratches! Sure it'll be moved soon when i get moaned at! I love it, want to get it fitted but got some time before it is.

And these are the other bits of the kit, all engine mounts, modified clutch master, gear selector mount and bulkhead box for gear selector mech.

Shell is going to the sandblasters on staurday at long last! Will be blasted at some point next week so work will begin in full the weekend after.

Better start ordering parts and spending money :w00t:

£150, got a couple of qoutes and they were all around that price. Seems pretty good, had an old land rover chassis blasted a couple of years ago and from memory it was about the same price.

^^ Yea, you do have to cut the inner wings slightly if you keep the standard front end on, i'm going to be using a fibreglass front though so it wont be a concern.

It does look very small in real life, i'm amazed the engine fits in it! It also weighs about the same as a standard mini subby so alltogether the weight of the car wont change dramatically.
