Afternoon followers   been a while since I've last logged on here.

 

After missing London to Brighton deadline day I've taken a bit of a step back from the van. I stripped the timing end down again for the 4th time the weekend before last to try and re tap the thread in the timing plate. 

 

No good I'm afraid as I couldn't get the tap handle in so it looks like it's going to have to take the gears off again and get a new timing plate.

 

I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment what with holidays so there is going to be slow to no progress till the end of September at least.

 

New deadline is looking more and more likely to be spring 2017 at this rate!

After nearly a year off from the van other than turning it over the odd time I've finally manage to cure the oil leak!!!!

Cheers guys hopefully a new lease of life back into the old girl. Id fallen out of love and life had got in the way. Im pretty spurred on again now the leaks fixed and the news that we are due to have our first child in September, plus the fact im going to loose the garage in 6-8months as my mums downsizing house!!!!


Wingnut - i fixed the leak by putting the half moon seal in!!! Something Id missed for so long!

Massive mate believe me!

Next on the list is wiring the front loom and switches. Still need weather strips for the side windows and a few odds n sods.

Although what concerning now is i left it idling for about 5 minutes and the block was getting warm but didnt seem to be any water running round the rad.

The bottom hose was warm near the block but cold near the rad. So either the themostates knackered and not opening or theres a blockage somewhere.
