Also bent the floor pan on the passenger side, forgot that the front would be much heavyier now with the subframe back on. After pushing it back into the garage, I'd noticed that while trying to get over the lip at the front of the garage, the trolly have bent the floor...

Bugger.

Just read through this topic .... I've had a similar project going on my 1982 Van - bought it 6 years ago - drove it for a year... then moved away from home (leaving my van in the garage) Now I live close to the van, work chas commenced for the first time in 5 years....

Great work mate, its looking nice! keep going.

Charlie

Thanks Charlie... slowly, slowly, catchy monkey...

Not much has been done to (now nicknamed) Bumblebee recently. Waiting on my mate to come round and blow over the rear arches so I can get the subby back on. The reverse rims have been sent off for shot blasting and powercoat in gloss black, should get them back in a week or so.

Other than that heres a few better pictures.

Didn't realise i had already stubbled on this thread, your nearly on the home straight. Awesome colour choice, in a mini your small so my theory is be bright and loud. You've got the bright sorted :). I like those wheels aswell are they the cooper reverse rims? and what arches are you planning on using.

Cheers thanks for the kind words always nice to know I'm on the right track. It sure is bright your right it looks abit flat in the photos much brighter in real life. Noise will be taken care of by the tweaked 1330cc with a RC40 when it goes in so I've got that covered.

Yes rims are cooper reverse, I've just had them powder coated and lacquered black. Planning on some black group 2's with the chrome strip want them to stick out about. I used to run them on my 850 without arches and it got through the MOT ok so might not run any at all.

Will get in the garage and take some new pics tonight.

Hi Iwan,

I think it was just standard Ford AA yellow I will get the paint code off the Tin this evening (should I remember) for you.

Cheers

Big picture update.

Finally manage to get the pesky trunnion pins out the rear subframe to replace with polybushes and new pins, however the nuts where completely foobared so need to source some replacements before getting the subby back in. (didn't take any pictures as it wasn't that interesting)

So onto the pictures.

Rear tubs are painted this is only the second time I've used a spray gun and the first time with my Aldi compressor, I don't think I did to badly its abit patchy around the top as I was struggling to work out how to hold the gun upside down without all the paint falling out....!!!! I will touch up with a brush as unless your really looking you cannot see it... And if you do I don't care I'm not that anal :D

Second hand drive shafts came up well after a sand, prime and paint.

Brake and Clutch masters just sitting in place at the moment.

Also got the Reverse rims back from the powder coaters last week. I have to say that I'm in love! lads have done a really good job, they coated and also lacquered them to make them so so so shiny, once they have some new chrome covers and sticky yokos on they should be sweet.

And one final one as the front end stands at the moment.
