hi

does anyone own and drive a bedford rascal as a social vehicle. i.e not as a work van.
im looking at buying one as they are very cheap and look like fun. and i need a summer run around
can anyone tell me roughly how much insurance would be for a younger driver.

cheers

My brother had one and got rid on the grounds he couldnt insure it as a social vehicle and this couldnt build no claims bonus on it. Hope that this helps.

im 19 and the best quote ive got is £3000 odd which is ridiculous because the van cost about £500.

and yeah thats the thing. i want it as a social car, but being a van the insurance is different. i suppose they think a van is more likely to be broken into or stolen even tho its a piece of crap van.

anyway ive always wanted one for some reason but it looks like its not gonna happen.

thanks a lot guys

Hi sorry it's 6 years too late lol.
It's me

Yes I managed to get insured for social domestic and pleasure. But it was with NIG insurance , (Adrian flux's sister company at the time)
For about 800 back then
