i was told that if its done in 2 pack it wont need the same care and attention that the celly paint job did, is this true?

That’s true 2 pack doesn’t drop its finish, but you still need to look after it.

ive been told that if its done in 2pack itll come up gorgeous after jsut a good wash with hot soapy water, is this true?

If the paint work is polished then yes 2 pack will remain just as nice as the day it was painted. DO NOT wash your car with fairy liquid as it is very abrasive ( keep it for what it was intended for, washing your dishes) Use a good quality car shampoo.

can yous till polish 2pack like you do celly? and what happens if you t-cut 2pack?

T-cut contains a lot of ammonia which is very harmful to 2 pack paints. If your finish should go dullish which it shouldn’t then use either farecla G10 or 3M fine compound, use either on with your buffer with a fine compound head on it.

what sort of products should i be using on a 2 pack car? should i still wax it after polishing it?

Wax your car about ever 3 mouths or so, no real need to keep on polishing it.
Use a wax such as mer, autoglym etc.

im slightly confused by the fact that i flat it and buff it up again like celly, does this not mean itll also be able to dull and go nasty again like the celly did?

As soon as you have painted the car you will get an instant finish out of the gun.
The reason that you’re flatting the paint work is to remove any bits of poo that will land in the paint, also to remove runs and imperfections.

Again 2 pack will not fade.

paintman-you really are a star!

thanks for taking so much time to answer my questions so thoroughly!

LAST question....

when i go to my paint supplier-what sort of 2pack paint do i ask for? as they once made me up some 2pack by mistake instead of celly, and it was called flame red BASE COAT

im guessing i dont need a base coat, but a solid colour paint.

if i just ask for solid flame red in 2pack will they know what i mean?

Thanks

Nick
