Hey dont know if I should get a minidisc headunit or a CD/MP3 one...Does anyone have a MD headunit? I've heard they are good as they dont skip and the new 1GB discs are out soon and can be used with existing headunits and MD portable players.. .thats 250 tracks per disc!!!

ive got a sony minidisc head unit, doesnt skip much, however the discs are encased in plastic, they can still move around slightly (not much though), this can still cause it to skip, ive got a minidisc deck and portable player at home, but i`d still buy a CD head unit.

personally i`d buy a CD/MP3 unit, theyre just easier, you can fit up to 600 tracks (low quality) onto an MP3 cd, also theyre getting cheaper and cheaper, at ripspeed where i work we`re selling awesome quality units for 169.99 (Blaupunkt Seville). Mail order are cheaper, but they sell the units WE return. shop around, you can still go wayyyy cheaper.

Cheers, I'll have to look at them. I thought minidiscs would be good as I thought they didnt skip (tested by shaking the poo out of my portable one  ) but seeing as they do, I might as well keep to CD's because burning them all onto MD may do my head in.

Cheers, TML

Ive got a CD/MP3 Head unit in mine, it doesnt really jump at all, the only time it jumps is if i use cheap low quality cds when it does jump now and then, but apart from that its great, i can fit about 12 albums on a cd :)
