You'll already have the same, or similar, cam, and you can swap the cam on a small bore engine relatively easily. Put your money into something else if you're trying to keep the cost down.

You could do the head & megajolt and see the advantage on the engine (in performance & economy) before you fit a turbo, You could also use a carb fettled for turbo charging and the rest of the turbo fuel system on a N/A car, but there'd be no advantage without the blower.

Cheers for that im goint to work on those areas firts then i will fit metro turbo fuel pump nd fuel reg, megajolt ecu (which looks a pain in the a**e) and then try fitting a 12g295 head whilst i get the turbo parts nd turbo carb mithinks

Megajolt's simple & can be fitted in an afternoon. The standard Metro ran the same cam as the Turbo, so if you're after better performance you want one from the "MG METRO" which was a better profile. Not the Turbo, not the normal Metro, but the MG METRO ! Lol.
Or order the Kent 500 which is the same profile.

There are a few MJ topics on TMF, you should find them if you search with google: site:theminiforum.co.uk megajolt

triggerwheels.com is likely to be the easiest option for a triggerwheel (what else! :)). MJ really pays off with forced induction & once it's fitted you can alter the advance all you like much more easily.

Do not worry about the tuning you can run a safe map until you have all the parts you want together and then you will want it tuned professionally to optimise your setup.

I cannot for the life of me find this on any forums if any one could point me in this direction or could shed some light on this it would be much appreciated. does anyone know how i would make the conversion on a standard engine block I'm looking to choose between my 998 or 1380 depends on weather or not i buy another mini   but how would i go about drilling for the oil feed for the turbo? or would i not have to?

Cheers Jordan

People use a Tee piece where the oil warning light is.
I however have used a DSN oil filter housing with a take off on top. It's usually used for a oil temp gauge, but I run a braided hose to the turbo. It seems to be working fine for me.

As above, or drill and tap the block directly above the filter and run your oil feed from there, that way the Turbo is getting freshly filtered oil.

Is the oil out of the top of the housing freshly filtered?
