Looking for opinions on Minis with "Keith's Convertible" conversion, do they still handle well? Do they leak at all? How easy is it to get the top off? Any opinions on this would be much appreciated.

I've never driven/seen one in the flesh, but I did look at his conversions 15 years ago(was about £400 for the kit). I would be wanting to know if it was a kit built or if he built it buying one now. He was around for a long time so I suspect his kits where good'ns and as his still kept the front 1/2 of the cab, I would expect them to be stiffer than the full conversions. But then all that extra box section could have rotted out by now......

Still fancy one mind :shifty:

Hi, I have a keiths conversion mini Cooper. Handles amazingly. On the roads with 4 other minis last week and left them for dead. Mine does not leak one bit, even when it's hammering down . Any more info needed mail me.

Find my mini on Facebook, search "Scarlett the mini" for full resto pics, beware there are replicas that's are shabby copy's !

I've tried to contact Keith's but it looks like he's gone and shut up shop which is a really big shame!!!
I need a new roof for my Keith's convertible and everyone I've spoke to says they can't get the quality from other roof makers.

Keith if your out there start up again please as we all NEED YOU!

Sadly I heard that he died a few years ago.

The hoods do come up on Ebay from time to time, but they are rare.

I also am the proud driver of a "keiths convertibles" mini.... I converted my mini about 12 years ago now, using one of keiths kits, and the car is still going strong!! The kit itself couldnt have been easier to build, and the car itself still handles just like it did before, but with the added bonus of having the wind in your hair!! Personally, keiths design of hood, is the nicest looking I have ever seen on a mini convertible.

I'm afraid they no longer trade. Any spares etc will need to be custom made now.

Would it be worth asking around Sturminster Newton to see what became of his blueprints or jigs or whatever?
