Many areas of my new car are in this red colour, the car had a full reposray but areas like the floor pans, underisde of bonnet etc are red. Would this be red oxide primer? and is it ok to leave it like this or better to spray up? If so how would i go about doing it?

Thanks

From what you say in terms of the places that are red it could be red paint..

does it have a shine to it at all ??

or is it dull like primer ?

if it is dull, then it could be primer, if it is primer then you are best to get paint on it
primer is hydroscopic i.e it absorbs water and moisture so the panels underneath will rust..

personally i would sand it back to inspect the panel condition underneath for rust
as if you painted it the rust would come through within a few months..

as for spraying the areas, this depends on how much time etc you want to spend.
you could use spray cans and paint it that way, it woul dgive it the protection although maynot look that great.. (you can get great results from spray cans if done correctly)

or go the whole hog and mask up and hire a spray gun and paint..
have a look in this section and there are guides on paint prep and spraying/finishing..
