What size box did you go for bud been looking at 25 x 25 x 2.5mm or 3mm for bracing my doors

Yeah that's what I went for mate, the 3mm one.

Another small update. Well that's what Bank Holidays are for, isn't it?   :mrcool:

Had a few hours in the garage this afternoon. Managed to finish stripping everything from the engine bay. I got an impact driver off eBay for £10 to help with the last of the stubborn screws. I have to say I am pretty impressed with how well it worked.

I was having a bit of trouble fitting the wiring loom through the hole in the bottom of the dash. Turns out that the cutout in the bulkhead has been folded/rolled inwards for some reason and was stopping me fitting the loom through it's hole. Any idea why this might have been done?

Anyway I bent it back and pulled the loom through easily. Looks like it might be worth me replacing both front inner wings as the have rust holes in quite a few places. This one was worse than I first thought.

The rest of my time was spent drilling out spot welds so I could carry on removing the front panels.

Anyway that's how it stands at the moment, still making slow and steady progress and hoping to get a bit more done soon.

Thank's for looking.

Good lad, it'll all be worth it in the end. Replacing the whole inner wings will save a load of time patching in repairs, and will look 10 times better

Thanks. I like the vinyl seats too but I think the brown cloth ones will go better with the finished bronze colour.

If you decide you would like to part with the vinyl seats, I would be very interested in them!

I'm back. I've changed from moneygrabbing Photobucket to Imgur so hope this works.

I've had a few hours in the garage the past few weekends.

I've stripped some underseal, treated some rust and zinc primed part of the bulkhead.

I've removed the triangle brace that connects to the R/H inner wing, and removed the B shaped bit that I think is for the engine steady? Cleaned, rust treated and zinc primed that too.

I've also removed the L/H end of the scuttle.

And removed the L/H A panel.

Oh and I got my wheels sandblasted and painted some rust converter on them.

Doesn't sound like much when you say it like that but it feels good to be getting somewhere again.

Cheers Jimmy. I notice you've not fitted your GT stripes yet, so I could still be in with a chance of winning our race.  :D

Cheers Gareth. I've been following your GT on Facebook, it looks amazing.

I thought I'd lost the limeflower cover when I moved house but it turned up in my parents garage a few weeks ago. Message me a cheeky offer if you want.

Thanks for the replies guys, it's nice to know people are still following.

Today I got some paint on my banded Rostyles. They're looking pretty good if I do say so myself. I do have a couple of bits that need a little attention, but with a bit of a flat back and another coat they should be sweet.

Hopefully more next week

I heard a little rumour that you might have got your stripes on now Jimmy   :D

So another Saturday afternoon in the garage, this must be some sort of personal record!!!

The front of the car has ground to a halt as I need to buy some inner wings before I can move on, but that doesn't mean I can't make a start on the rear.

I bought this a while back as it seemed sensible to replace the most rotten piece of the car first-

LEr8AUsl.jpg?1

So today I've made a start removing the boot floor panel-

PKubu4pl.jpg?1

TpIzZCDl.jpg?1

The side of the drivers companion bin needs a bit of a repair so it's looking like this might be my first bit of fabrication work.

The inside of it is a bit worse for wear so I bought these bits-

Hope to carry on removing the boot floor next week.

Oh and my darling wife treated me to this as an anniversary present-

See you soon :)

Nice one, your Mrs has done good.

Yeah, Holy Crap! has earned her stripes now, possibly the most nerve wracking job I've done haha

You'll be surprised how easy the boot floor is to fit, that spot welder will be worth it's weight in gold
