they will not fit over 8.4 brakes, you will need either drum brakes or 7.5 cooper S disc brakes for them to fit.

Some 10" wheels do fit over the 8.4" brakes, JimmyH has done it

Weller should fit with a spacer and the caliper grinded a bit to have enough clearance..
..not reccommendable for safety, but i've seen it done..

Ahhh fair enough. How did he acheive it? Huge spacers, ground back calipers?

(and sorry, when you said "his are steels" I thought you were talking about the OPs! which really confused me!)

I'm pretty sure I got 10" Wellers over 8.4" brakes before with grinding a tiny corner off the calipers

I am not sure, he called round for some doors at the weekend, said they were a special offset, have a search on his posts and you will see the wheels he has fitted if that helps

said they were a special offset

Ahh well that might explain it. Its not the norm to get standard 10" non weller wheels over 8.4" brakes!

Wellers or standard steelies bungle? Because I thought only wellers fitted with the 1" spacer..?

10x6 Wellers WILL fit OVER 8.4" brakes with a 1/4" spacer and a ground back casting, or OUTSIDE with very minimal grinding and a 1" spacer. Should get the calipers pressure/crack tested after if you do this.

I've also had 10" wheels on 8.4 brakes, but they had build in spaces to clear the calipers.

You'd also need Sportspack or wider arches with this route.
