Hi all in the past few days the Gypsies have been driving and stoping out side my drive and looking at the mini which I don't have a problem with ( The mini is pretty much a shell at the moment ). However today they stoped outside the house in a big HGV with a small crane on the back ( Easily big enough to lift a Mini ) After about 5 minutes I went out just to make my self know ( as there were no cars at my house) and they very quickly drove off.
I'm worried that they are going to come when no one is in and take the car ( Which could be easily done ) What should I do :/

Might be worth asking your neighbours to keep an eye out?

I don't think chaining it to the house would be an option :L

Short of being able to chain it to the house I think your options are limited. People like those you mentioned are opportunists - if they think they can get away with it they will. You can notify the police but there's very little they can do unless they're caught in the act.

You need a very scary minder or a big dog on constant duty if you can't hide it. I would try to move it somewhere where it isn't on show otherwise they'll half-inch it.

Or call the A-team...

The family has a very big Labrador (Not a fat one ) that is very good at barking but he would not bite some one if they came up and jumped on him. Hopefully the barks will put them off

That sort are pikies not gypsies. If I were you, I'd go buy a security camera with a light, preferably a flashing one. I think you can get them pretty cheap.

This is an increasing problem if you have an 'old' car parked outside in public view, two Mk1 Mini's disappeared of an owners driveway recently on here.........the boom of the manufacturing and construction industries in China and India means all metal, including scrap is in big demand worldwide and fetching high prices.
