We've taken it apart and the list of things to repair it at the minute is:

1 x tyre for the ritz's wheel

2 x bearings (going to do both sides)

1 x left hand nut (may have one though)

1 x washer (may have one)

1 x rear hub

1 x radius arm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :xxx:

1 x radius arm bush kit

So it's a lot worse than it looks/expected, the pin the bearings sits on is damaged as is the hub. I would have just pushed the pin out and put a new one in but the radius arm has a little crack either when the bearings have got really hot and caused the pin the expand and crack the casting or where it locked up all of a sudden and pulled the pin.

Was there any warning noises with regards to the rear wheel bearing ?

Nothing I could hear that sounded like the bearing >_<

It's looking alright ;D, They're similar to the metro wheels but they're from the ritz (as it's off the road and getting lighter by the day from the amount of rust ) but it does look quite good on them ... surprisingly. Yeah a fair bit but could have been a lot worse. I don't think it wants to get back on the road though, I bought a set of arms but the passenger one was knackered  >_< , So I've currently got 4 spare drivers radius arms and no good passengers :w00t:

2 moke tubs in the back of a van, they were german and came over with a trailer but unfortunately they had an accident with it so had to hire a van. it was millimetres of space to get them in.

You'll just have to imagine the previous photos...   ... I'll try and swap them over at some stage if it doesn't sort it's self out.

Anyway, with a passenger side radius arm acquired I cleaned it all off and ground some of the casting marks out to make it smooth like the other one. Gave it a coat of zinc paint, fitted the bush and reamed it and fitted the nylon sleeve and needle bearing.

Then gave it 3 coats of black as well as a spare hub I had and pushed the wheel studs into it.

I removed the drivers hub because I didn't trust the bearings and it was right to do so as it was starting to go as well!!! So I removed the 'OLD' bearings and pressed in the timken's. It was then just a case of fitting it all back together. It was very easy to get the old radius arm off ... NOT...   Because I fitted the protect shortened shocks the radius arm would not move down low enough to remove it and with a bur stopping the pin coming out the subframe made the job a right pain as I had to cut the pin that shocks slides onto and try wrestling with it trying not to scratch the paint. Then it was just a case of refitting, changing back to the 10's and checking the front wheel bearings which they seem OK, but will be changed for timken's. I think the problem with the non genuine bearings was that they were too short so added the preload on them.

And gave it a wash

Thanks Guy's.

Haven't really done much on it or driven it really, there's still loads to do on the ritz and this one and the MPI >_<. We went to a car show a couple of weeks back, it drove for a clapped out 998, the only problem being that it was too low which ended up the passenger rear tyre ripping the chrome strip off the side (that corner is causing me problems ) I've still got to paint the mirrors, maybe in time for castle combe? anyway photos.
