Interesting 'Woodie'. It appears to have no door windows as they should be the sliding type and drop type wouldn't clear the door handle mechanism. The rear side windows should be 2-piece, but have been converted to one piece.

Still, it's good to see it on the old CA blue/yellow plates.

Maybe it has "Aussie" doors?

Bridget Bardot - Saint Tropez

"Brigitte Bardot's white Mini Moke was kept at her La Madrague home in St Tropez, parked next to her second Mini Moke, also from 1967 but in dark green. It was sold for € 23,000 in an auction held in Brussels (2012) using a photo of the car. The proceeds of the sale made Monday will be donated to the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.

This was a very good price. In the auction catalogue, it was estimated at between € 10,000 and € 15 000. It was sold to Brigitte Bardot on 1 January 1967 as new and delivered to Saint-Tropez. It is one of the few cars left of the first series produced in England between 1964 and 1968.

La Madrague is the famous property acquired by Brigitte Bardot in 1958 overlooking Saint-Tropez, on the Baie des Canebiers."

Well spotted, photos below......

  • Professional footballers are used to a million-pound lifestyle with fast cars
  • One Crystal Palace player opted for a more traditional ride on Thursday
  • Connor Wickham arrived at training in a tiny Mr Bean-style Mini Cooper
  • He explained that the car is the same age as him, made back in 1993

After being pictured with expensive rides in various Instagram photos in the past, Wickham squeezed himself into the blue Mini Cooper for an altogether different experience.

He was interviewed by talkSPORT's Ian Abrahams at the training ground, with the journalist querying his choice of car.

In response, Wickham said: 'It's not bad, it's shiny. Brand new wheels, brand new tyres. It's the same age as me. I've got one at home that I'm going to restore, that one's a bit nicer. This one has a wow-factor. You noticed it, so it's obviously doing something right.

'I knew it was going to get a bit of attention, but it's something I like doing. I've always wanted a Mini classic from the year of my birth. Some people like the Range Rovers, but the Mini is something different.

'Me personally, I get more enjoyment driving that Mini than I would a driving a flashy super car.'

Of course back in the 1960's footballer George Best had a Mini to go to work in.....and in later years owned an R53 MINI.

Not as famous as some on here but apparently Alex De Minaur (Aussie Pro Tennis player) owns a 1973 Mini 850 Deluxe, although its heritage might be questionable going by the bonnet badge and the front indicators?
