Hi all, this is gunna be a long one, as in long time to finish.

Its a 1972 clubman estate ive bought, bare shell project which suits me fine as I plan to convert the rear windows with van panels and do an engine conversion.

It needs some repairs to the floor panels, A panels and rear floor/door step.

First step is to get it mounted on the spit and the rusty areas shot blasted.

Ive bought some red oxide primer to protect the shot blasted metal.

Ive been looking at doing the micra engine conversion, but theres no rush to decide as I want the shell immaculate before we move onto other areas.

Ill get some pictures tomorrow, hopefully mounted on the "spit"

Heres some pictures of how good the shell is in places and the rusty rear floor which is because it was sat in a barn with rain running into the back :/

Phone had low battery so wouldnt let me use camera, damn galaxy s2.

Anyway, not overly much to report. Roof skin now in place, had to fit some random doors to make sure everything was straight and lined up. One of my friends shot blasted the gutters and around the roof panel, so we could do some nice clean repairs. Now spot welded and mig'd into place.

Used some vatican anti rust stuff inside the guttering edges, around the roof edges and on the surface rust of the front wing and front panel.

Its going to be shot blasted back to bare metal soon hopefully, so i hope to anti rust and red oxide it to prevent further surface rusting. I will probally start on the floor panels first as we have them, im abit skint to buy any other panels just yet....but plenty to get on with.

I'll try get some pictures soon, but imagine a clubman estate completely bare shell and your on the right tracks lol.

Right, we have started cutting the rear floor out to repair. Using a donor panel to replace the bits which are NLA.

Ive bought myself a genuine complete mini van panel, near side. So just need the offside to be able to convert this into a van. Still keeping the rear seats etc for practicalities but looking like a van. seats fold flat anyway so could use it as a van too.

ordered a load of panels to be getting on with until i can get the floors shot blasted etc.

Well a trip to bonny scotland in the snow

to collect this.....

can you tell what it is yet??? bit of a better picture and picture of the breakdown below......

Posted Image
yes a very rotten mini van....plan is to make fibreglass upper quater panels (these panels are NLA new or pattern parts) to convert the estate into a van. Original plan was to cut the metal out and weld in, but more we look at the van, the more it begs to be restored (pending further investigation into documents).

First mould taken, so progress already.

On the van front, load bed is solid which is suprising considering the amount of soil, grass, weeds, stones that we had to dig out of it. Roof panel as been "knocked out" and is nearly back to original shape.

Best of luck with the Clubby. It's funny how many of them have popped up again over the last few years, they seem to be getting a bit a revival.

Seriously they look so good, is there a chance of any pics on how they fit to the inside of the old window frame/or ledge?
So this picture above is the FG van sides fitted and smothed off with filler? and primer yeah?
