Cheers for the door.
Tub of filler and a tub of fibreglass bridging filler arrived today, so will get the OS van panel blended in.
10" steering wheel arrived, good condition too, bargain at a tenner.

Steering wheel boss arrived to fit the 10" wheel.
Cut out the corner on the repair panel im making and re-done it. Had to use some of the tooling available at the club including sheet metal cutter, sheet metal bender, metal roller, shrinker/stretcher and joggler tools. Looks better than it did and im glad i took the time to re-do it.
No pictures, as was far too mucky but will get some next time.
Welding improving i feel too.

well the floor bit ive been working on is welded in place. Needs some more welding but its tacked in.
Lined up the rear corner repair panel and rear valence corner to check everything lines up properly. Once sorted, tack welded the rear corner repair panel into position.
For the time its took, im glad to see it going back together again.
Got a repair to do further in towards the middle of the car and then the rear door step to weld in so the rear valence can be welded on.
No pictures again, was too mucky and had to pack away etc.
Welds not the best but have got penetration and hold, so flapping wheel over top to finish.

bit more welding done.
had to make a trolley for the welder as the plastic wheels bust when moving it around. doh.
Didnt get any pictures again, but only have to make 1 repair panel and then i can start on the rear door step and valance.

Bought a plastic autoplas type dash for this.
Not sure what clocks etc im gunna use yet, but always loved the centre type speedo so maybe fit custom gauges in front of the steering wheel.

well a fairly major update in terms of project direction.
I accquired a new heart for this project in the form of....
1800cc VVC Rover K-Series 143bhp.
Just collected it tonight, so will get pictures. But its engine, metro subframe modified to fit mini clubman, wiring looms (mini and rover), pg1 gearbox and loads of bits like ECU, fob, etc etc.

Bit of a delayed update
Been working on the rear floor still, my welding is improving slightly.
Worked on the OS door, which ive decided to fit to my daily and then reskin the one from my daily for this one.
Today managed to make some good progress, things staying in place, weldings laying better. Need to grind some bits back and it will need a touch of filler to level out the warped steel from the welding, but its coming on well. All the back end repairs have had to be made using sheet steel as the parts are no longer available, ive no real experience in making repair sections but access to tools (benders, cutters, swagers etc) has helped.
I feel like im learning a new skill (welding) and am pleased, even though ive been abit down hearted about the welding over the last few months.

well good progress. managed to finish welding the repair sections and rear step, also fitted NSR corner valence and the centre valence piece.
I need to work on the door post at bottom on the OSR and also repair the NSR arch, so a little more to do at the back before I move on to the front floor pans.
Inside of the rear step and between valence/inner valence was seam sealed and painted before fitting the valence.
My welding is steadily improving, today i was really happy with it, no pin holes, laying nicely etc. Dont want to speak too soon but i think ive cracked it, working the settings to achieve results.
So to do next list:
OSR corner valence + repair to door post at bottom
NSR wheel arch repair and valence closing panel to fit.
