After washing the wheel with soap and water, rub the wheel with a Scotch Brite pad or scourer.

The second stage. Use a rag, and make sure to get everything out of all the crevices and from the backside of the wheel.
Using a new Scotch Brite pad or scourer, scuff the wheel to prepare it for paint. Heavy build- up of old paint, pits or other problems may require harder sanding with 80-to 180-grit sandpaper. Finish these areas with fine sandpaper or a Scotch Brite pad or scourer.

Wash the wheel again, and make sure to get all the sanding dust and dirt. Once the wheel is clean, wipe it down with a grease remover (white sprit) and wipe off. Otherwise, it’ll leave behind a residue that can affect the paint.

The next step is to spray the wheel with Primer to give the topcoat of paint a better surface to adhere to.
Using a new Scotch Brite pad or scourer, scuff the wheel to prepare it for the next stage of paint.

The last step is to spray your colour choice of paint. You can buy wheel paint, which will probably be best, or normal spray cans that will work just as well.
Use some very fine wet 'n' dry with hot soap and water to smooth the topcoat ready for the clear coat
Apply the clear coat the same, as before the more coats the more glossy the finish will be.
