Theres a scrappy nr here with half a dozen intact Mini's that he wont sell, because he said theyre registered as scrap with the dvla. How do you get round this?

We have an old Nova at college that was registered as scrapped, then we decided to rally it so wanted to put it back on the road. We managed to get a new V5 from the DVLA once we had taken some pictures of it to prove it isn't scrapped. I think it was easier for us because we told them it was for educational purposes. I doubt you'd have any luck getting cars out of a scrapyard though. Years ago my dad was at a scrappy and a Morris Minor rolled in having just failed it's MOT on a few bits of corrosion. My dad made a deal with the owner to buy it off him but the scrapyard wouldn't let him have it because it was on the weighbridge and that was that!
