Check this out.

Install a nice floor safe in the living room, store the hydraulic remote in that and then watch someone try and steal your Mini!

It would be a b*stard if you couldn't find the remote.

Don't think Modern Housing would be too impressed if I got one of them installed, actually to be fair they might not notice it.

Aha, I laughed when I saw that. It's a good idea, but.. expensive.

Did you see the link at the bottom to the guy who made one that lifted the car from the underground garage into his living room?

EDIT: Infact, that whole website is pretty epic.

There are some awesome interior designs on that site! I particularly like this one. Combine that with an equaly awesome garage/car workspace solutions and you have city living sorted!

The 'car in the living room' design is also pretty cool. Imagine having an underground car park full of pristine Minis, and just bring up a different one each day to stare at. When you want a party, just hide them all away.

The interior designs on there are epic, yeah. Did you see the indoor/outdoor swimming pool one?

Looks amazing. The way they've used the light from the water to make the whole place glow slightly blue is intense :D

I heard of what I think might be the ultimate in vehicle security. You take a square piece of wood about 1/2" thick and through a small hole in the centre you fit, vertically, a 4 mm steel rod of sufficient length so that with the piece of wood placed under the driver's seat, the steel rod just touches the underside of the seat base surface. You sharpen the end of the steel rod to a very, very sharp point. If some yobo jumps into the driver's seat to steal the car it doesn't take much imagination to realise that he'll get an immediate operation for piles. Just don't forget that you've placed it when you wan to use the car.
Apparently a few years ago at Luton Station car park a chap with a Capri did this. He came back and found the car unlocked and traces of blood on the seat! Hooray!!!

Sorry, also, check out the 'Gajitz' link that appears on the site as well. Similarly awesome design, but for various gadgets! There is also a section on some retro gadgets.

That's pretty cool :D So far, the best stuff on the website has been interior design. I'm gobsmacked by some of the stuff on there.

Somewhere you can while away the hours without realising it!
