I know it's not ideal because you get no agreed value (in real life unless you have a 2000+ motor then it's not worth it) but have you tried the bonus builder policies from elephant.co.uk and Admiral?

I was with admiral for a while on my 110bhp Rover 416i (crap I know but a bit bigger and heavier than a mini and it was cheap ;) ) and I was only paying £600 a year and I'm only 20!

And you get a 10 month policy but a full years no claims!

i will ring admiral now and see but i doubt i will get it for less than 2 grand

insure2drive is the cheapest i have found
1275gt is £2002.69 for fully comp own policy with no parents and im only 18 i know it seems a lot but its the cheapest yet for an 18 year old

just rang them and spoke to an advisor revised to quote i done online and they want £7500 or a one of payment of £6900

im and and no peter james and footman james changed theres 19th november 2011 but still done the insurance policies but after the 1st of jan 2012 they wont do them at all
