I have recently brought a MK3 round nose mini that has had the front end chopped off to fit a fibreglass front end but i am not a fan of these so will be re fittin steel front end, i have had the idea of fittin a clubman front end as i am a big fan of the clubmans is there any issues by doing this with either fittin the panels for any problems with the DVLA and the vechiles ID
cheers

For starters, the inner wing panels are different due to the longer nose.

Also, your insurance company will class it as a modified vehicle pushing your premium up further.

ye i knew the inner wings were differant and they have mostly been cut away from the car i am using but am i right in assuming that where they weld onto the main bulkhead they are the same as a normal front panel? and is there no issues with the DVLA?

The DVLA shouldn't mind as you'd using genuine parts for the conversion. As above you'll have to inform you insurance company but if you do the full conversion including inner wings it should affect what you pay too much.

Yes the inner wings of a clubman will weld onto the bulkhead of a round nose Mini in the same way as the standard items do.

ye thats what i was hoping, i ve always wanted a clubman and it seemed like a good idea for this build as the extra room up front will help with fitment of an intercooler as it is going to be a turbo engine

no serious mods really, just panel replacement. you will also have to replace the bonnet hinges as they were different for clubmans.
