Hi all, I never worked on a car body, never welded, or painted a car.. and I park my car outside no garage. I have few small rust spots on my mini and wanted some advice on what I can do.

Here are some pics:

chances are its only surface rust. no real damage there at the moment. get it touched up proffesionaly after sanding the paint and rust down or do it yourself if your confident i did it myself although i don't have metallic paint. the problem is your paint covering isnt going to protect the car as well as the original so in truth its a downward slope from here. if you were really serious you could get the whole door sprayed which will protect it but that may be a bit drastic.

yeah, by the looks of things, its only surface rust, but the spots under the wings where it joins the front panel is a common spot for them to rust, and id investigate here further from behind the arch to check its okay inside, clean it all up in there and spray some stone chip etc on to help protect it. i use gravitex about £10 a litre..
the rest of the rust all looks fairly treatable..

Definitely do it now rather than later!

Looks very minor, but you won't really know until you take it back to bare metal and have a proper dig around.

as he said make sure you go all the way back to clean metal and make sure that no rust is left!
