how strong is the bottom half of a std 998 a plus?
thinking of putting a new cylinder head unleaded on to mine and wondering if there is anything to look for at the bottom

So long as the crankshaft is in good condition with un-scored journals, good main, big-end and crank thrust bearings a 998 bottom end is very strong.
Just check the crank journals and end-float, maybe fit a new oil pump and cam followers and a new timing chain.
