Okay so I went snow drifting in the mini and think I have ******* my electrics..
When I touch the dizzy or near the coil I get a electric shock...
The 1 & 2 fuse blew, might be nothing to do with it though :S
Anyone know anything I can do to find out the problem?
Thanks in advance :)

Yeah I dried it out sprayed it with WD40 ran okay then sprayed it down with the hose cause grit was everywhere, then had the problem again water is making it ark out(Think that is what it's called) Can't leave it how it is cause one bit of water and it will just keep doing it... Think I'm going to change the dizzy and leads see how it goes if still doing it then change the coil then I have no idea

'It wasn't working well because it was damp, so I dried it and it worked fine. Then I sprayed it with water again and it started playing up again'
Stop touching the wet 3000 volt transformer or spraying water on it and you might find you stop getting electric shocks and arcs. Clean the grease and dirt off it all, dry it, fit the water shield back to it and see if there is actually a problem before you do anything drastic.

electronic ignition will solve having to adjust the points all the time but wont stop it arcing out when its wet all over the front of the engine wiring. best thing is a weater shield and wd40 before going out in wet conditions :)

Yeah I wrote that wrong,I did dry it and spray WD40 over it but it was still giving an electric shock. It never use to do it before so something has to of gone wrong? I'm going to replace the leads and stuff anyway they're old and shitty..

Fair enough but if it's really wet rather than damp then WD40 won't do anything anyway. It really is probably just dirt (dirt absorbs water, WD40 traps more dirt which in turn absorbs more water), but old and worn leads could be breaking down. Do you have a weather shield?

Okay well buying new parts for it anyway and the rest I'll just take off and clean. No I don't have one, need to get one of those as well.
