I'm 113 miles away from this mini so can't easily go and have a look.

What might be damaged on the rear wheel? will it definately be the subframe? or maybe just part of the arm? :goaway:

Definitely will be subby damage - but also the subby may have pulled away from (and damaged) the heel board. New bodyshell and rear subby should soon have it back on the road again! And then you will have a 'new' mini on the road for ~ £7000 - including the £250 or so to buy that one.........

I think it be a lot more than £250..

The shell is a mess so it would be for parts. It's just with a badly damaged subframe it makes it a little more drastic,

Thats criminal to write a shell off for that damage!

Its more than likely going to be a bent radius arm, radius arm bracket, or if your unlucky the subframe. If the heel board was to be damaged, its nothing a repair section couldn't fix either. If your handy with bodywork, its nothing more than a few hundred quid in panels. Once that quarter is removed, that rear panel wouldn't be too hard to pull out, if the arch needs replacing thats simple enough with the quater panel removed also.

Considering what rot boxes sell for these days, that would definitely be worth a punt at that price.

Worst scenario is take out the rear sub-frame, get the shell into a body jig for accurate repair, fit new rear sub-frame and, if bent, the rear arm. Fit any replacement front suspension parts and a new front sub-frame in the unlikely event of that being bent too.
A good time to get rid of that inefficient exhaust system too.

Looking at it on copart there is similar damage to the o/s rear quarter/rear panel too. It would be a lot of work, but not beyond some people on here. I'm surprised it's only a cat C though.

It looks like the impact is higher up so the subby could actually be ok...i would be more worried about the wheelarch
