Basically I had my mini back to bare metal 4 years ago. The car was resprayed with etch primer then standard primer and 2k to coat and clear. Just noticed the other day that the roof on the passenger side is covered in microblisters. I think there must of been moisture in the airline and that the sprayer must of started on the roof as his first panel as the rest of the car is fine. I am going to rub all the roof back down to a good surface and spray it either black, white or silver. I have a 50liter compressor and airline but by the time I buy a water trap/regulator and 1k paint which should cost around £70-80 would I be better off to use aerosols? Reason I ask is because I work in a motorfactors and get get the aerosols really cheap but still been a good paint or do I shell out and get the 1k stuff. I have sprayed stuff before like alloys, arches and bumpers etc so I can get a good finish but I have oly ever used aerosols. I was told that if I am going to reprime the roof and spray it gloss white then aerosol is fine but wanted someone to help me out. Many thanks.

you can give me a ring if you want help or advice, my number is 07815495075 and my name is george.
id recomend you done spray you roof with tinnie cans as its a large area and you will never be fully happy with the finish etc.
blowing over the whole car in single pack paint isnt a good idea either as its cheap and nasty paint. the compressor you have will not cope with the amount of air flow needed for a spray guna and will not run a constant 2 bar of pressure and with lack of pressure will cause the paint to not atomise correctly resulting in pour paint finish and most likely runs.
like i said gimme a shout if you need advice or help

i would just say i have a 75lt compressor and it runs out of air very quick and leave striping in the paint where you have to go closer and slower so not 2 sure if a 50lt 1 will be any good and also is it in a worm garage the compressor as its very cold this time of year and it would have alot more moister in the tank so you might get more water entrapment in the paint
