Hello! I'm thinking of buying one of these: http://www.mm-4x4.co...-kit-2720-p.asp

Are they hard to put on? What do I do?

Thanks in advance :)

hi they are easy ,a small point to remember
your mini has to have a 12v coil and 12v feed not a 9.5v ballasted feed and coil
i have fitted loads even to race engines never had one give problems
thanks phil

Very very easy, you just replace your points and rotor with the new parts and maybe alter your timing a little.

You don't need to change the coil if it is ballasted, keep the coil wiring standard but run a new 12v ignition switched feed to the Britpart unit red wire. Only connect the black wire from the unit to the coil negative.

If your coil is already non ballast its even easier, connect red wire from Britpart to coil positive, black wire to coil negative.

And yes very easy to fit, If you have a 59D dizzy there will be a small pin that needs to be removed to allow the unit to sit flat on the dizzy baseplate.

I use them all the time, pretty much any mini that comes in to me for a service gets one as it's cheaper than replacing the points, condenser etc and saves setting up time... and obviously is a whole lot more reliable.
