hi I have a 1994 mini monte carlo and when I slow down or stop the engine cuts out or stalls. I have just had it serviced (Today) and I have used a petrol cleaner as well but I cant seem to solve the problem. Any Ideas on whats wrong or how to fix it would be really appreciated.
Thanks

is it an spi? if so have you checked the vacuum pipe coming from the ecu for any splits or holes.

My MPI was doing that, it was the idle control unit, its gone twice now. Replaced it and I can coast up to every junction no problems.

Is this carb or spi? My 94 mini 35 used to do that. It was a simple solution to adjusting the fuel. The carb was flooding the engine, it was fine if you kept the revs up.

Hi everyone thanks so much for your help. The car has an automatic choke, I have checked for any obvious splits but Am new to this so go with my haynes manual in hand. I think it could be the ignition timming but I will investigate further and let you all know how I get on.

My Mini 35 has done this a couple of times but infrequently...always when she is cold and it's chilly, like another poster if I kept the revs on a bit it stopped doing it.

as said above could be idling too slow or hav a broken control unit? mines a carb but i adjusted my idle speed too low and it did this, i dont know how to adjust it on injections though sorry.

I have finally got my mini back working :D . There was air in the clutch, and the earth leads were rusted up giving a poor connection causing the car to stall .
