I have spent ages stripping my mambas back of all old flaky paint that they had on when I got them.

I tried priming spraying and laquering one of the wheels a few months back and I left it once sprayed, the paint has now started to crack (due to poor prep im told) but what I want to know is how should I got about spraying them this time?

I have just spent a while stripping this wheel for the second time and dont want to mess it up this time please help.

Thanks

I would of got them sandblasted but used nitromors and got them back to bare alloy now anyway. It would of saved me a lot of time but oh well you learn from your mistakes?

I just had one of my Mambas shot blasted then zinc coated and powder coated costing around £20, from a local company. Worth phoning around for prices, shouldnt cost to much as they are so small.

How long have the wheels been powdercoated for though as surely once they get a little chip on them then thats it you can't do anything about it. Where as this is surely less likely to happen to sprayed wheels?

Have you had the whole wheel powdercoated or left the outside lip polished? (This is another reason I was going to paint)

Ive got the whole alloy powder coated. Been running the car now for 6 months with them powder coated, but just recently had the spare powder coated as well.
The coating is pretty tuff stuff, but if you do chip, then you will have to either get touched up or re-done.

Thats the thing I am sure you must get the whole wheel powdercoated and I want a polished lip left on the wheel.

That would be something you would have to take up with the sprayers.

My wheels are currently silver with a polished edge....planning to respray the centres in graphite.

By using Nitromors will it just take the lacquer off the the whole wheel or will it take the paint off too....ideally i will want to re-lacquered the whole wheel once its sprayed....

Thanks

cheapest i've found is £210 for all four wheels being refurbed and resprayed

think i need to invest in some wire brushes, cleaning compound and some new paint
