HI everybody,
First of all I would like to mention that I am from Slovakia, EU so excuse my English. I hope you will understand everything.
Well, how I sad I come from Slovakia I'm 23 years old student and fanatic of everything with engine, high speed etc. I am working on Mini with my older brother and our father, who is doing a major part of work.

The project is Mini Cooper powered by Yamaha R1 RN19 2008 ENGINE Rwd and left hand drive of course. The aim of the project is to build an fast, light, good handed mini car. We are driving Slalom championship in Slovakia, better to say just meeting of people with the same interests who want to enjoy a free time.
We started about 1 month ago and have already bought a chassis with frame inside in good condition with no rost almost ready for painting. Unfortunately there were missing many parts and it was ready for using FWD.
2 weeks ago I have been in Poland and brought R1 2008 engine with complete accessories, only missing speedo(bought last week) and sub-wire harrness(it will came next week).

I will post pics and subscribe it later tonight.
Thanks.

Sounds like a great family project!

Get some pics up, the frame set up sounds interesting if it was made for FWD but your making it RWD

You can't edit your post after 15 minutes.

Also you can't write anything between attached images.

Its best to sign up to a site like: http://photobucket.com/

Its free and you can upload all your photos to there and then link them to your posts with the IMG links it gives you.

Thanks Mike.

As soon as we brought car home, we started to work on it.
The first task was to cut the floor to make a space for new engine.

When the engine came we put it into and arranged floor little bit to fit it exactly at the right possition.

I spent many hours studying forums about minis especialy this one, to found out how to instal engine, how to make a subframe holding engine but I was limited by safety frame.
Because of that I am doing it my way. It is not finished yet, still in progress.

I have recieved some new parts today.

New LSD Torsen by the way from Russia :D
I was thinking a lot about the diff, which one to use. But there was a one problem all the time-price.
All LSd, Quife, etc was too expensive. I am not able to spend about 800 euro for diff.
Then I found smthing much cheaper. It is Torsen LSD intended for Lada Niva 4x4.
It cost me only 300 Euro and I it suppose to be strong, because it cames from Russia:)
So I am going to use rear driving shafts from Niva as well.

Sprocket size which I chose is 17 front and 52 rear.
Final drive Ratio 3.059

Any updates on this buddy?

How much was the sprocket? Is your engine offset slightly?

Looking great!!!

Sprocket was about 50, and engine is little bit offset due to more space for left drive shaft.

The big problem is that it stucked. I can't start the engine. Trying to found out what's wrong for last 3 weeks.
I am disappointed, probably it is ecu. When I wanted to start engine first time everything was ok but I don't have Exup servo motor so I Found DIY scheme how to solve it. Then I started engine and smthing went wrong. I could fuc**d up my Ecu. Now a dashboard showing err 1 and 2 plus HI temp. Usually it is low voltage battery and many others solutions, but I checked everything, have red all topics about that. Nothing helped:(
I have bought Exup servo, so I have all parts now. Need to find new ecu or check my ecu on sombodys moto.
1st of May is a race close to me, I wanted to be ther. Now it looks like impossible. Will see.

Have you found anything which say what error 1 / error 2 is at all...?

Agree that a mix of error message does sound like an ECU issue - but be careful just plugging another one in there as it could be something wrong in the wiring that is causing the ECU to go wrong.

I would reccomend going over to locostbuilders.co.uk and asking those guys if they have any advice or experience. They are generally friendly and the best source on the internet for bike engine car information...

Good luck!

I have read many topics about problems with ECU etc, but nothing works in my case.
I have ordered a new US version of ECU with keys and harness. I hope it will fix my problem, because it wasnt cheap :shy:
Tommorow it should be here. I pray to solve it.
US version is better becouse there is no immobiliser in keys, it means less problems.
