Right, just changed the radiator on the mini as well as spark plugs, also the gaskets on the head, manifold and car assembly.
Now he won't start
Tried bumping him, didn't work, battery isn't flat, fuel is being pumped into the carb, and the spark plugs are all giving off a spark.
The original problem was that the radiator was knackered and causing him to overheat rapidly due to coolant loss.
All new oil, no white deposit in the old oil when it was drained.
Am gonna possibly arrange a compression test to make sure he was torqued up properly upon refitting of the head and all the other ancillaries.
Any pointers?
Thanks guys, ALSO it's my birthday today, so I kinda want to take him for a drive :)
Turns Over, But Won't Start :(

If it was starting before and you've fitted new plugs I'd suspect leads on in wrong order.
Double check its real easy think they are right when they aren't
Plugs are numbered one to four starting at radiator end.
Dizzy cap the leads go anti clockwise with No 1 usually being top right...see below

Also I presume you altered the valve clearances after fitting the head

as
lrostoke said i think it could be the leads on the wrong way, or have you disturbed the angle of the disributor? causeing it to try and fire about 20 degrees BTDC, it's happened to me, i didn't realise that the 7/16 bolt was loose for the holder (some ass at college loosened it i think but definitely check the firing and ignition of it :)

Thanks guys! the leads are in the right order, checked that already.
and nope, did nothing with the valve clearances. I'm not a total newbie, but taking the head off and replacing the gasket is one of the more tech jobs I have done
How can I go about altering the valve clearances?
Also how do I check the angle of the dizzy is correct?

If you haven't touched the dizzy, and the dizzy feels tight no real reason mess with that for now.
Valves clearances, basically work out a way of turning the engine over slowly.
really you should have slackened all the valve tappets right off before torquing the head down, It probably won't hurt but just something I do now.
If on flat ground put in 4th and push the car engine will turn
If no space or not flat, take out the spark plugs and try turning the fan.Engine in neutral
If that doesn't work jack up a wheel and turn the wheel thats off the ground again in 4th gear
Rocker cover off watch the valves, look for one that the spring is compressing on, when it looks like its down (you'll get a feel for it) adjust the valves that adds up to 9
eg valves 1 to 8, if No 1 is down adjust No 8, If No 2 if down adjust No 7 etc etc
technically No 1 is near the radiator but doesn't really matter for this exercise which end you start.

Did you take the head off? If you did, then the valve clearances will b e all over the place if they were not accurately re-set.
Set 0.012" clearance cold for all valves.
Set 0.012" clearance cold for all valves.

I had something similar, it was literally as simple as a wire had come off the ignition coil. Make sure you check it.
