Do you mean backfire when the exhaust 'pop's on de-celeration? like the rally cars??
my maniflow exhaust 'pop's so prob do it with the correct exhaust?? if that is what you are on about, unless you mean when the engine actually back fires?

Turning the mixture up will make it backfire, but its a waste of fuel and you'll get laughed at...

I must admit tho, when i hear a cars exhaust popping when i am walking, it does sound pretty cool.
Mine does it when my tick-over is working, when the engine doesn't want to tick over, it doesn't do it at all!! it turns heads!!

Try yanking the choke out just before you deccelerate.
Actual backfiring can be achieved by rolling your car down a hill, in gear, with ignition on, but the engine not running. Let it suck a decent amount of fuel into the cylinders, then start the engine. BOOM!. Backfire. It dos damage your engine, tho. So only do it in yer mates' cars.
