finally thought id make a thread of how my mini is coming along.... as ive moved to the country and am living at work and my work is a nice hotel and golf course i can not do the work myself so i have 3 people doing the work for me at a nice cheap cost of around £6000 - £7000 all told (for everything not just the work)

would like to thank:
richard pinchin (mini specialist southwall industrial estate, deal, kent)
james kersey (kersy klassics southwall industrial estate, deal, kent)
nathan (spray paint southwall industrial estate, deal, kent)
custom consoles for minis (ebay)
auto trim direct (autotrimdirect.co.uk

soon to be more will be going to optimise for my speaker pods and boot lining when i have the cash so ty to them in advance lol

so enough of that and onto some pics :P (we all love the pics :))

this is how it all started... got this car off of here from a guy that had been told like me "alot of work had been done" and "the shell is solid with new sills ect" "just a few small holes in the usual places" so had a poke round and all seemed ok :P at first lol

so anyway enough of the nice looking mini and onto the rust

this is some of the rust:
all corners of the roof had slight pitted rust which was just filled over
both inner arch tubs
boot pan front need subframe mount and rear on the rear valance
rear quater had holes at the bottem of the arches
door pockets on both sides
front floor pans
drivers side filtch panel
both inner scuttle pans
rot on the rear seat pan so 2 plates of metal where just welded over the top
and now THE worse part.... them NEW sills i said before.... ended up being new sills just put over the top of rot...
so the inner and outer sills need replacing

new panels brought and going on:
new inner and outer sills
front floor pans (being cut as only need the front part of them i do beleive
complete rear seat and boot pan (comes as one whole panel so handy :P)
2 inner wheel arch tubs
rear valance
little boot things (cant remember the name) lol
2 inner scuttle
drivers filtch
carbon fibre flip front :P:P (2 peice tho so worried it might flex anyone using one please settle my nerves :) )

any way here are some pics of the rust i dont have all the rust pics as i lost some :( just hope the welder has them

Just saw your car today, it's looking good with the new floor in & James is about to put the whole floor section on the drivers side. It's taking shape!

I brought an engine off here from adcyork but as with all classic engines it had some oil on the back so just encase today i decided to strip it down ready to be painted and all fresh new seals :P. Here is how i got on.

I Started with the cylinder head which i stripped down completely. Was completely hassle free accept the valve compressor was far to big so had to use a handy nut to help with it :P. very dirty though!

Then after i cleaned it. (currently being sanded back and will them be treated so the rust doesnt start coming through again.)
