Spent some more time down the garage on my last day of holiday from work. The engine is now painted and just needs the water and oil ways drilling.

Getting there.

I also got these little babies....

and soon after these arrived...

So i got to work and built up the pistons while i had some free time.

As I need to try and get or make some sort of attachment for my engine stand and I'm also waiting for the sockets to undo the shaft bearing bolts in the gearbox I decided to strip down and clean the heater unit because it looked a bit worse for wear.

In pieces (looking a little rusty in there)

The outside is fully painted outside, in the arches and underneath and then stone chipped in the arches.

It looks super red but the colour is actually a candy orange, that changes the depth of colour depending on the natural light hitting it. The paint is really odd but really cool it has a base coat of silver and then several layers of orange coloured lacquer to get the effect.

The interior is next to get a good coat of paint.

ITS TIME!!!!

xQjUBQA.jpg

With a bit of 'Gentle persuasion'... It's in!

xpo5VO6.jpg

Pedal box, clutch, brake master cylinder and brake limiter installed.

b6BEoLv.jpg

Handbrake and steering column in, just to make the artists life easier when he does the art work and the roof.

Art work will be mechanical steam punk style and the roof is going light grey. inside is getting stone chipped on all parts that are not seen to help with sound reduction and as an extra precaution

I'LL BE BACK!

Where are you going to run your fuel pipe? I only say as I forgot to run mine before I fitted the front subframe and had to drop it out again! At the rear it's easy enough to run the pipes over the underside of the subframe but I don't think that works at the front unless you custom make a longer pipe.

I have some custom braided lines coming so they will be easy to run ??

Had you thought about getting some decals/vinyl artwork instead of airbrushing? The technology today would give uv resistant decals plus the benefit would be: if you dislike the artwork you won’t have to get it all resprayed and if you sell the car the chances of someone liking your exact taste of airbrushing could be very little. May be a bit late but is worth considering!
