I think most of you know my car by now... carrying on from this thread http://www.theminifo...si-lovely-rita/

She's now stripped off her loveliness with panels ready to be sent off to paint... I've got a twin cam 1.4 to go in already but I may well 1.8 VVC her instead.

The spec, so far consists of a Rover 214 16v 1.4 engine putting out a respectable 105bhp. The car started life a SPI so I need to convert to engine loom to MPI so I can i can lose the MEMS ECU and run the MEMS 1.9 which MPI Tro's/Rover 214's run as standard.

How she looked..

Then I had a little dilemma. Running out of money to keep Rita on the road.. taxed.. MOT'd and insured i was a little torn.. there was no way I could let my beast go, and I wasn't gonna let that happen. So, I turned my Mini round in the garage (all on my own :P) and with the bumper off, Rita fitted with an inch to spare

She got a mega polish before going in storage for what could be a very long time.. (try insuring a 1.8 Metro as an 18 year old! :o)

And when I first got her to the garage testing out my nice new GTI sideskirts...

cosy..

What followed shortly after...?

Loooking good buddy, always thought she looked pretty before... Should look stunning once youve finished with her! :D
Question is though, what are you driving at the moment if Rita's off the road? And whats happening too the Mini? :P

with insurance prices of 4 grand on any car I'm not driving anything at the moment!! But I'm on the lookout for a Honda Cb125s bike which is 3800 cheaper to insure and still a 1973 classic!! :-)

Mini Is another work in progress! :P

Thanks guys! :D Means a lot to know people miss her

I think they're terrible cars... still love them though. They're like what the Mini could and should have been... and then some :-)
